I am using Document Intelligence resource with endpoint ___location in West Europe. I am expecting to use prebuilt-layout version 2024-11-30, but I keep getting prebuilt-layout 2023-07-31 despite my manual attempt to call 2024 version. I also reckon the API Kind in my resource page is FormRecognizer, not Document Intelligence. Why is that? Please explain and assist. Thanks

It seems that you are experiencing issues with accessing the prebuilt-layout version 2024-11-30 in your Document Intelligence resource located in West Europe. The reason you are getting the prebuilt-layout 2023-07-31 instead could be due to the availability of the preview API in specific Azure regions. As of the latest updates, the public preview version 2024-07-31 is currently available only in the following Azure regions:

    • East US
    • West US2
    • West Europe

If your resource is set to use the Form Recognizer API, it may be due to the naming conventions and legacy support for the Document Intelligence service, which was previously known as Form Recognizer. The transition to the new naming may not be fully reflected in all resources yet.

To resolve this, ensure that your API calls are correctly targeting the 2024-11-30 version and that your resource is configured to utilize the Document Intelligence capabilities. If issues persist, consider reaching out to Azure support for further assistance.
