An open source container cluster manager DMs are not monitored
About us
Kubernetes is an open source system for managing containerized applications across multiple hosts. Kubernetes builds upon a decade and a half of experience at Google running production workloads at scale using a system called Borg, combined with best-of-breed ideas and practices from the community. Kubernetes is hosted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). If your company wants to help shape the evolution of technologies that are container-packaged, dynamically scheduled, and microservices-oriented, consider joining the CNCF. For details about who's involved and how Kubernetes plays a role, read the CNCF announcement.

🚀 etcd v3.6.0 is here! 🚀 For the first time since June 15 2021, etcd released today a new minor version. This is a significant update packed with new features, performance enhancements, and community milestones. ✨ Major New Features: Full Downgrade Support: A long-awaited capability for smoother operational flexibility. Migration to v3store: v3store is now the sole source of truth for membership data, deprecating v2store. Kubernetes-style Feature Gates: For more robust and manageable feature rollouts. livez/readyz Endpoints: Aligning with Kubernetes for clearer health and readiness checks. v3discovery Protocol: A new clientv3-based discovery mechanism. ⚡ Performance Boost: ~50% Reduction in Memory Usage: Achieved by reducing default snapshot count and more frequent Raft history compaction. ~10% Average Throughput Improvement: For both read and write operations due to cumulative minor enhancements. 🛡️ Enhanced Security & Reliability: Integrated 'govulncheck' and 'trivy' for better security scanning. Introduced Robustness Testing, uncovering and fixing several long-standing bugs, making v3.6.0 potentially the most reliable release yet! Critical bug fixes addressing data inconsistency and durability issues. 🤝 Community Growth & Governance: etcd is now a Kubernetes SIG (sig-etcd)! Strengthening its role in the K8s ecosystem. Welcome to new Maintainers, Reviewers, and a new Release Team! Introducing the etcd Operator Working Group (WG-etcd-operator). ⚠️ Important Notes & Breaking Changes: Old binaries are incompatible with new schema versions. Follow the downgrade procedure! Peer endpoints no longer serve client requests. Clearer boundaries between etcdctl (online) and etcdutl (offline) tools. Upgrade Path: Users MUST upgrade to etcd v3.5.20+ before upgrading to v3.6.0 to avoid potential issues. 💻 Platforms & Dependencies: Linux/ARM64 promoted to Tier 1 support. Updated core dependencies like bbolt (v1.4) and Raft (now a separate v3.6.0 module). This release represents a massive step forward in etcd's maturity, performance, and usability. We're excited for the community to start using it! 🔗 Read the full announcement for all the details: https://lnkd.in/gPyGftFb 🔗 Changelog: https://lnkd.in/gBY9GSvz #etcd #Kubernetes #DistributedSystems #CloudNative #DevOps #OpenSource #Release #DataStore #Performance #Reliability
