You can use the complete set of Visual Basic and C# language features when you develop Windows Store apps in Windows 8. However, you can't use the complete .NET Framework class library. The .NET for Windows Store apps overview article describes a streamlined view of the .NET Framework class libraries that includes only the types and members you can use to create Windows Store apps and Windows Runtime Components. You can find a detailed list of these types and members in the .NET for Windows Store apps APIs section. The reference documentation for the languages is located in the MSDN Library, along with a description of the way the .NET Framework supports the Windows Runtime.
