One of the best features you may have missed in Office 2010 is the tight integration between Outlook and OneNote.
Open up an appointment in Outlook 2010 and you'll see a small OneNote button:
Click it to open a linked meeting notes section (the first time you use it, you'll be prompted to select where you want notes save):
All of the details of the meeting are already prepopulated for your reference. Enter your notes, and they'll be linked as long as the appointment remains on your calendar. Best of all, you can select any action items from your notes, right click them, and turn them into Outlook Tasks for follow up:
