I applied this fix and juste after the restart there is a bleu screen... STOP0x00000000a... or something like that. No time to read it, it reboots just after. I can restart in safe mode (without network) and use the last restore point... I used this fix because I typically have this issue only with VISTA OS : Error message in Windows Vista when you try to rename a new subfolder in a shared folder on a network: "The <SharedFolderName> folder does not exist" Any other idea ?Anonymous

I have homedirs on a Windows 2008 Std server (SP2), shared with dollars and only the user added with Full same on security. The user sync offline using Windows Vista Business and suddenly he can't access or browse random files and folders on share. He gets access denied. When I investigaste I find that ___domain admin can't do this either, on the server that is. I try to give ownership to ___domain administrator but without luck. Then I login with local server admin, run ICACLS on folder in question giving user Full permissions. Then i formatted CSC db on Vista client, after that user could browse all folders and files. Unfortunately the user can't open random files in his homedir. If he adds himself and gives Full permission on file he can open it as intended. My question is: Is there a way to do this for all files and folders? icacls on client does not work.Anonymous

I don't understand! KB 942974 says "On a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7-based client computer, you can still access offline files even though the file server is removed from the network..." Isn't that what should happen?Anonymous
